About
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, David Sowa did not pick up a camera until later in life. Originally attending Arizona State University to study architecture and starting his career designing and building homes, there was never a thought of doing anything else. It wasn’t until after the great recession that he turned to photography as an alternative career path.
The transition from the precision of architectural design to the artistry of photography has continued to be a profound personal transformation. It has changed how David views the world and helps him find beauty in everyday life. Chicago's unique charm, characterized by its rich history and ever-evolving urban landscape, has provided David with an inexhaustible source of inspiration. His photographs often reveal a deep appreciation for structure, geometry, and the interplay of light and shadow.
After several years of running his own company, David now works at Outfront Media. He captures visual content across the Midwest for some of the largest brands in America, blending his creative style with the power of outdoor advertising to help amplify campaigns in the real & digital worlds.
